    Hi all
    I had my set of documents open as I always do. I unplugged the usb with them all there and wen I tryed to close it asked me something. I clicked yes or no and than pugged usb back in so I only had 1 of 10 documents replaced with a really old one.
    Any suggestions on how to get my current document back ?

    I offer tips via PayPal.

      Probably should have paid attention to what it was asking, and then acted sensibly according to that.

      I really don’t think you’re going to get your data back from this situation.

        @Alan-Kilborn I did I just cant quote it as I don’t remember. but it was asking something like if I wanted keep it open and not save changes or something like that. I thought I chose correctly. Odd thing is the version it replaced it with was from over a year ago… And as I sead I use it on a the daily so it should not have back rolled so far. Not to mention the system folder that stores the back up was empty ???
        I have tried many data recovery software hoping. But notepad++ doesn’t seam to let the files touch sertion system files like windows does for notepad/documents.

          @franKENstin ,

          Notepad++'s unsaved-files backup location is not in the same folder as the file, it’s in the AppData hierarchy. (So if you want to use recovery software, try it there instead of where your old file was located)

          It is not an auto-save feature like you seem to think it is; for that, you need the AutoSave plugin (you must configure it). more on periodic-backup vs auto-save in our FAQ on the subject.

          If you hadn’t manually saved your file in over a year, then Notepad++ would never have written it to the main document folder – it would just keep happily doing the periodic backup in AppData, assuming you were able to save to a named file whenever you thought it was necessary.

            Well I could not find it there. I used many recovery app’s.
            But the odd thing is I found a version of it that was only a few days if no day’s old in a way deferent folder that some of my other documents are stored in…
