      Hi
      At the moment the search result window stays on top, is it possible to make it behave like a normal window and NOT be stay on top ?
      Thanks in advance
      Asger

        @asger-jørgensen-0 ,

        Not that I know of. If you use the Find All variants, there is a Settings > Preferences > Searching > Find dialog remains open after search that outputs to results window setting that would control whether it stays open or not.

        I think the expectation is that if you don’t like it open, you can just hit ESC after the first find to close the dialog, then use the F3 and similar keys to navigate through the results.

        But if you want to turn this into a feature request (“please add an option to close the find-dialog after any search, not just the ‘Find dialog remains open after search that outputs to results window’ that currently is an option”), here’s a FAQ that explains where to post that request.

          @Asger-Jørgensen-0 ,

          It was pointed out to me that you said “search results window”. My mind couldn’t conceive of anyone undocking the search results window, so it autocorrected it to “find dialog”.

          If you don’t want it in the way, dock it, which is its natural state. Or, if you don’t want it docked, move it outside of the Notepad++'s main window.

          If that’s not sufficient, then the feature-request FAQ I already linked is your next step. (Or someone else might come and suggest something.)
