how to view .dat file

Hey there, So as you can see. I opened a .dat file that is supposed to have numbers and letters (text only) there is nothing else besides in that dat file, and yet i am unable to view this file properly
Is there any way to convert or i am not sure what am i supposed to do to read this text file in a human languageAny help is appreciated, thanks

Notepad++ is a text editor.
It works on text files.
You do not have a text file.
Thus, Notepad++ isn’t the tool to help you. -

As Alan hinted, you supposed incorrectly. That file obviously has many binary bytes beyond plain text. Usually files that are named
.datare binary files, not text files.We actually have a whole FAQ on that
