I think the real problem here is that you’re trying to use a plugin that hasn’t been updated in ages.

Notepad++ and its interface to things has evolved and can’t remain backward compatible with such outdated things.

Maybe some suggestions for you are found HERE.

what?’ I had no idea, and I love its sort function,
is it available on the alternatives?
or maybe we should stick to 8.4.2?

From your upper screenshot, it appears you want to use the “Sentence case.” feature of TextFX. Why not just use the Sentence case command that exists in Notepad++ itself?:

            Who’s this “we”?
If the we is YOU, then of course, stick with a piece of software that has been abandoned by its author since 2009 and hasn’t been updated to conform with modern Notepad++ interface standards.
The rest of the Notepad++ user world…moves on.

@Alan-Kilborn it might be aged, but it’s one of the best plugins ever written for NPP.

@Alan-Kilborn NPP has no alternative for each and every feature that is present in TextFX. The example you gave is only one small grain in a silo full of excellent features only present in TextFX.

that may be, but Alan’s statement still remains true, Notepad++ has changed its interface and plugins have to adapt to that. What functions are you still missing?
Have you seen the link in the FAQ regarding the TextFX2 variant?

                    NppTextFX2 v1.1 Latest
Only working functions enabled in x86 and x64:

The x86 build has the largest feature set
On the x64 build all functions that need a rework (and have crashed Notepad++) are disabled for now

                      Hello @peterjones,

I am about to send you, by e-mail, a document summarizing most of the functions of the TextFX plugin to know your impressions.

If you think that this one (or some parts of it) could be useful to Notepad++ users, you could include it in the corresponding FAQ:

                      https://community.notepad-plus-plus.org/topic/23166/faq-desk-how-do-i-replicate-the-features-of-textfx

Of course, you can modify it as you want, especially to make it look English !

You can add some points that I may have forgotten and/or delete some parts that you consider not essential

                      Have a good reading !

                      Best Regards,

                      guy038

P.S. : I just realized that I forgot to do some more tests before sending you my e-mail. Sorry :-((

                        Hi, @peterjones,

As agreed, Peter, I have just sent you, five minutes ago, an e-mail with an attached file, relative to the TextFX plugin !

Take all the time you need to read it, there is no rush !

                        Best Regards

                        guy038
