If you are interested Wikipedia has this to say. And no they don’t quote your 2 names.
It makes for a great party trick. Ask someone to make a single sided object. Then when they can’t, tear off a long thin strip of paper and do a half twist and combine ends. Ask them to trace one side. They arrive back at the start. Of course there is the thickness of the paper to consider as being the 2nd side, so not strictly a single sided object.
