    How do you access the offline help from within the app? There’s a special selection for accessing the online help but I see nothing for the offline file or nothing I would recognize.

    Thanks

      @CityguyUSA ,

      The app does not come bundled with help files, and thus has no interface for accessing them.

      If you want an offline copy, you can download the bundle from the npp-user-manual.org site

        @PeterJones The SSL certificate for https://npp-user-manual.org/ expired on May 7, 2023. Is this something only @donho would deal with?

          @mkupper ,

          I pinged Don here, and he has “accepted” the issue, so he’s hopefully working on it.

            Thank you @PeterJones. It looks like we got a temporary reprieve. The web server has a new certificate that’s good until 16 Jul 2023 13:22:22 GMT.

              Most of the free https certificates are on a 3month cycle; usually, the hosting provider has things set up to auto-renew, but apparently this one didn’t.

              Oh, I just did a couple refreshes of the user-manual site – on one load, it used the good-until-July certificate, and on the other, it used the expired-May-7 certificate. That tells me that the manual’s host has multiple machines responding to the same URL (loadbalancing), but that there’s a different certificate on each machine.

              So it’s luck-of-the-draw whether you get the expired certificate or the still-valid certificate.

                All,

                It appears that the server is reliably giving a valid certificate again.

                  @PeterJones That’s dumb. How much effort does that involve? It’s a link.

                    WHAT’S dumb?

                    If you don’t know what you’re talking about, perhaps best not to talk.
