      Hello,

I can scroll vertically (top to bottom).
How can I scroll horizontally (left to right)?

      Thank you for your answer.

        @DomOBU ,

I don’t think there’s a keyboard+mouse option for the horizontal scroll [update: duh; see @guy038 reply below]. All I know of is the horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of the window, which won’t be visible unless there’s enough text to be scrolled and the View > Word Wrap is not on:

        no scrollbar c7954c57-819f-4401-9652-84dd214abd2d-image.png
        word-wrap on df3f546a-67b0-4fe9-afdf-53b77e3a5bc5-image.png
        word-wrap off f8465d95-3473-4d19-8160-98a8dfa13a5a-image.png

BTW: if you have a fancy mouse like shown in this post, it might have a horizontal scroll wheel, which does work with Notepad++ and other Windows apps.

          Hello, @domobu, @peterjones and all,

Not totally sure but, to my mind, if you use the following mouse gesture, you get a true horizontal scrolling of the curent tab, even with a standard mouse :

Shift + Mouse Wheel Up/Down , in the editor window ( not in the tabs zone ! )

          Best Regards,

          guy038

            Works for me!

The annoying thing is, I thought I had tested that combo before making my post, because I thought there was some modifier+scrollbar combo that worked… I apparently skipped over that combo in what I tested (I think I must’ve only done ones that included ctrl rather than just-shift).

I corrected my post above to scratch out the false statement.

(I looked up the history: it was added in v7.6.4 in 2019)

                Thank you for your answer.
There’s enough text to be scrolled and the View > Word Wrap is off (automatic line feedback is not activated).
However, I don’t have the horizontal scrollbar available at the bottom of the window like on your screenshot. Perhaps there’s another parameter to consider.

                Your solution works correctly.

My mouse supports horizontal scrolling. It is another solution but less natural for me.
The horizontal scrolling is a usual way on many Windows software.
