Remove selected bookmarks without removing lines

If I have 3 bookmarks in my file (lines 1, 5, 10), and I highlight lines 1-6 for example. How to remove the blue dot bookmark from the highlighted text (while keeping the lines intact)? So the file is still the same 10 lines, with the blue dot (bookmark) only in the 10th line.

If you are only wanting to remove 1 bookmark and leave all other bookmarks, just left click (with your mouse) on the one to remove. It will disappear. If you really mean to remove all bookmarks, but not the lines then right click in that column where the bookmark appears and select “Clear all bookmarks”.

Of course you seem to want to clear all bookmarks from ONLY a selected area of the file, sorry not possible as I see it, the “clear all” means just that, ALL.

PS I think I have found a method. If you have some lines highlighted (as you state) and it’s ONLY within these lines that you want to remove any bookmarks, then:
Copy those lines to another tab (Ctrl-C, then Ctrl-V in an empty tab), then copy them back (Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V) to the exact same location. Do not change the selection (highlight) in between. By copying them back it seems as if any bookmarks on ONLY those lines is erased.

PPS There’s a slight anomaly which I seem to be noticing. Highlighting must go from first line to very start of the line past the selected area. When copied and returned the last (full) line will have the bookmark erased if there was one. If the selection was to the end of the last line, then the last line in the selection will not have it’s bookmark erased (if it had one) upon copying back. I suspect the EOL (end of line) characters are playing a part in the consideration to erase any pre-existing bookmarks on the lines overwritten in the original file.

Perhaps not quite the right statement as it implies a possible issue.

I’d say this is by design due to inclusion of the EOLs which determine if the bookmark is erased in the original file.

So if you normally highlight ONLY to the end of the line this will miss the last EOL.
