When you switch to Dark Mode from Light Mode, the tab icon for “Unsaved changes” changes to a pencil and i can’t find any option that undo that change… even checking “Alternate icons” don’t help, i think because the first row of icons from when it is unchecked is replaced by dark mode’s icons so you can’t switch back to it as that icons don’t exist anymore as option.
In my searching i found a hacky method that uses CFF Explorer to replace icons from notepad++.exe but before i try it, i wanted to ask for an alternate solution.
      Light Mode Icons:

Are replaced by these Dark Mode Icons:

(And yes, i’m blind and i need my brightness/contrast to be really specific in different situations)

In dark mode, if you tick the box for Alternate icons, you DO get icons that are fairly “high contrast”, IMO.

In general, I don’t know if there is any help for you without resorting to external solutions (i.e., hacky methods), because really, the whole point of dark mode is that everything blends together in a “low contrast” way.

Perhaps going with non-dark mode is the best recommendation for you (without a hacky solution), but then again, perhaps not because I don’t have full understanding of your vision situation.

Ok, thanks for replying. I will go for the hacky method then.
