      I just updated Notepad++ to 8.6.2 and noticed that multiline editing is changed.
      Previously after doing multiline edits (shift+alt+arrows to select something in the rectangle), my cursor was back in normal mode (after letting go shift+alt and moving using arrows). Now it stays in the multiline mode.

      I can only exist it using mouse. Is it possible to change this behavior?

        The solution is to create empty noColumnToMultiSelect.xml file in the config dir of Notpad++

        Very weird way of changing config instead of adding a checkbox in settings
