search doesn't find words outside the view anymore

Since the latest version of Notepath++, when I do a search - and the word I search for is outside the visible view at that moment - I don’t get any results.
Then I have to do all kind of <enters> to find the word myself. That’s unworkable. I’m lucky to look in an alphabetical file, otherwise you can’t ever find that word.

Is this, may-be, a new setting that I can turn off?

What is your Notepad++ version?
The recent v8.6.3 has some issues with the search and v8.6.4 is already out as a quick fix for that regression.
Best is to stay on v8.6.2 until the official update reminder is triggered - then it will be (relatively) safe to update as the new version will have been tested for some time.
