How to interrupt loading of a large network file?
-
Hello,
yesterday I double clicked on a file (located on a network drive) in Win Explorer. The file started to load. Then I realized that this was a wrong one and that I actually wanted to open some othe file.
But the file I clicked on was huge (over 2 GB) and the network connection was not very fast. Hence the loading took some time. I could not interrupt or cancel it.
I know that there were some changes recently regarding working with network files. But, if I remember correctly, they handled the case that the connection was closed. In my case, the connection was still established, it just was not fast.
Is it possible to stop/cancel loading a file if it has already started?
Thank you for any hints.

Very short answer: No.

Thank you @Alan-Kilborn for the quick reply. Would it be a valid feature request to have this feature?

I’ve created a feature request: https://github.com/notepad-plus-plus/notepad-plus-plus/issues/16103
