New text file choice missing from right-click New.. menu

Using 6.7.8.2 with Windows 7 64-bit
I have lost the choice of New Text file from the New Menu, whereby you right-click and can choose a New - Folder, Shortcut, Text document, Microsoft Word Document, Microsoft Excel Worksheet, etc.
I am assuming this is due to me screwing something up when I installed Notepad++
Is this a registry entry that is fouled or missing, or some other aspect of my Windows settings?
How can I get this Text choice back for my New options?
