CTRL V messed up

I had notepad ++ ver 6.8.5 installed. I then installed an html hex plug in and then a hex plug in.
When I edited a file, and cut something (ctrl c) then tried a paste (ctrl v) it does not do a paste, but expands the file into all kinds of information. I tried deleting notepad ++ from my computer and re-installed (ver 6.8.5) but it does the same thing.
Any help to remove this functionality is greatly appreciated.
