Notepad++ crashes when loading large XML file

I have a rather large XML file (140MB) which I’m trying to open in Notepad++. Normally this works okay if I have some patience. But now I’m just facing an error message after some loading time.
The contents of the XML file is visible in the application window and I can continue to use Notepad++ as long as I leave the error window open.
I’m trying to use the “Pretty print” function on the contents but it immediately return with an error message. Closing the error message window crashes Notepad++.My system is Windows 7, x64 running Notepad++ v.6.8.3.

As a quick solution. I’d recommend uninstalling the mimeTools plugin.
