Splitting files?

Hello all, new to notepad++ and have a question. I intend to use this software as a basic file compare software. I have programs that are actually 3 separate programs but when I load them into notepad++ they are merged into one. They are separated by $1, $2, and $3. Is there a way notepad++ can separate these automatically when I load them? Thanks, Kevin.
