Search and replace crash on large files
-
I’ve been using Notepad ++ for years now but recently have been using larger files (Larger than I usually use).
Today’s issue was with a file with just < 1700 lines.
I’ve taken a multi line input file (the list output from schdtask to list all scheduled tasks on a PC)
I’m trying to get all tasks so that each is only on one line so I can import into a spreadsheet for filtering
When doing a search and replace for (\s{3,}) it crashes if I do the whole file. If I select from line 1 to 1000 and apply the replace, then from 1001 to 1700 and apply it works fine.
I then tried to replace all the "| | " (my start of record marker) with |, it tried to do 1500 but it crashed again. Is there a way to see whether its a plugin (and if so which one) from the crash log (see below). I can drop back to the command prompt and use sed but its a bit of a pain when I know notepad++ should work…
