Help with search function

I have some problem with the search function in notepad.
Quite often when i try to find a word, for example “menu”
the word is not found although its in the textfile in
several places.Is there any place i can check the settings
for the search function?Greetings Hakan

<Ctrl>+f should open the find dialog. Make sure you have not accidentally told NPP to search back/up. I did that once and was sure the editor was broken. I always keep wrap around enabled to I avoid this possibility.
Also, pay attention to the ignore case, find whole word, and use regular expression settings which can sometimes cause unexpected results.
