I’ve got my defaults set, and files opened from Windows Explorer always open correctly in Notepad++. The problem is when another program opens a file (for instance, opening a .log or an .ini file from a program menu): it opens in Notepad even though that’s not the default!

Is there anyway to fix this? (I’m running Windows 10, but this was also happening on Windows 7)

      Thanks!

It really depends upon what the “other” programs are doing. They likely count on Notepad.exe being present on every Windows computer, so they probably simply directly invoke it. If you think about it, it makes sense. Now, whether or not it is a great strategy is another question.

It’s possible that’s the case. What are the other possibilities? Any workarounds I can try?
