Hi !
Sorry for stupid questions, but I’m atm migrating from python IDLE to NP++. Want learn good programming habits and try control everything without mouse. What is difference between nornal NP++ installation and portable ?
1, Is portable version same hardware efficient, fast, stable as normal installation ?
2, All files of NP++ are in one folder ? Including user personal files ? (C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Notepad++)
3, When user is going to code in other pc, isn’t it better to move whole portable folder of NP++ in compare with installing new instance of NP++ and moving this folder into it ? C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Notepad++Thank you for detailed answers.

I can’t give detailed answers, but I don’t think you need them.
- Yes.
- Yes - or subfolders of that main N++ folder.
- Yes. You might want to create a folder inside the N++ folder, for your documents. Then the program, settings, and documents are all together.
You’re using the PortableApps version of N++? If you don’t need plugins, you can use the Minimal installation at https://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/, which is also portable.

I’m using normal installed instance with personal files here: C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Notepad++
When I will be experimenting with portable instance, is it enough tojust move my personal files to portable folder ?
When adding new themes, is it enough to add new theme into personal files(with my current instance) or I have to add it also to c/program files/np++/themes ?
Thank you
