Bug report: DSpellcheck sucks
-
Not only does the default spellcheck dictionary not include regional variations without the ‘u’ (color, center, favorite, neighbor), nor any actual computer terms (telnet, netstat, ssh, etc.), but it also can’t find basic words like “mandatorily” (http://www.dictionary.com/browse/mandatorily). It applies spell checking even to text that is clearly not English grammar (e.g. characters prefixed with a “:” or the various parts of an email address (the “robert” in “robert@company.com”), and even single ). Can’t you just take advantage of the built-in Windows spellcheck on systems that have it, which is 1) significantly more versatile 2) already set up with the language and locale the user users 3) takes advantage of the operating-system-level dictionary?
