I have one problem with plugin Explorer. If plugin is install - Notepad don’t start. I see it only as process in task manager. If I deinstall it - Notepad++ started correctly. What is it? And how I can resolve this problem. I like Explorer. My system: Windows 7 Home 32bit.

Same problem here one Windows 7 Professional 64 bit SP1. A few days ago npp worked fine with Explorer and LightExplorer. Now both cause the described problem. The only change I am aware of is Windows Update yesterday.

I just started having the same issue today despite NPP working fine yesterday. NPP wouldn’t start with Light Explorer installed but then does when the plugin is disabled. I tried the latest plugin directly from SourceForge and had the same problem. I then tried the “Explorer” plugin installed through the Plugin Manager and had the same problem again. It looks like NPP doesn’t have access to whatever provides the file listing information (or something…). I’m running Windows 7 64-bit and running NPP as 32-bit.

Is there an alternative to Light Explorer and Explorer? I just need something to list my files.

An update to Dropbox appears to have created the problem for me with N++ and the Explorer plugin. (HT to poster in another thread in this forum.) The problem only just surfaced for me. N++ with Expoler worked fine on Friday.Today - the first time I used my computer since Friday - N++ would not load.

Uninstalling Dropbox solved the problem for me.

A solution has been found: https://notepad-plus-plus.org/community/topic/12253/failure-to-launch/17

Disabling the Dropbox context menus let’s NPP use explorer plugins and Dropbox still works.

The Post from Rana Rananjay Singh in https://notepad-plus-plus.org/community/topic/12253/failure-to-launch/23 shows the solution, without touching Dropbox.

                  Its working.

But for me it’s too late :-)
Moved to Sublime Text 3 already and meanwhile i’m very happy with it.
