    What are these numbers on the left ?

      Hi all, I’m new here (though quite longtime Notepad++ user).

      In a file I have open where I get these numbers on the left (circled red by me):

      Just out of curiousity, what are they and how / why do they automatically appear there ?
      I guess it’s something in the file that causes them ?

        They are line numbers.

          But why arent’t they continous in this case (meaning every line has a number) ?
          There’s 1,2, then someway further down after a big gap there’s 3 and so on (not visible on the screenshot).

            You have word wrap turned on. If it wraps a line then that doesn’t count as an actual numbered line.
