Search/Find (ctrl-F) stopped working

The title says it–ctrl-F has stopped working, and I can’t get there with Search/Find either. I don’t know what I did to cause it. I suspect I hit some combination of shift, ctrl, alt, and the Windows key, but that’s just a guess. Restart nor reboot help. Thanks.
