As much as I love your program the document switcher… it’s hard to find the file I need in it, if I have more than 20 documents opened.
The ‘Document List Panel’ helps a lot though: is there a shortcut to quickly make it appear?

Back to the Document Switcher (Ctrl+TAB), here’s the two features requests:
1: an [escape] key to simply close the dialog with no further action if I change mind.
2: a button or something to sort that list in some ways, so I can easily find my files, or maybe a listbox with sorting by column (probably better).

      Thanks a lot.
      Marcello

        Workaround:
If you press Ctrl+TAB and want to stay where you are, let it go and press Ctrl+TAB again and let go
You’ll have the same effect as Escape

        For other solutions see:
See Feature request: Add ability to move file across the “document list panel”

The request is difficult to understand because Npp has confused the terminology (or confused me!)
In Preferences | General the option refers to “Document List Panel”
The title of the “Document List Panel” is “Doc Switcher” :(

I think you meant to say:

            Hello, Marcello, CyBriran and Scott,

Yes, Scott, the Shift + Ctrl + Tab shortcut is the right one !

But , here is a second solution :

            • Once you hit the Ctrl + TAb shortcut, you still hold down the CTRL key with your thumb and have released the Tab key

            • Then, just hit the up arrow key, once

            • Finally, release the CTRL key

=> You should keep the same current file !

            Best Regards,

            guy038

              Hi @Marcello-Pietrobon ,
Look at NavigateTo plugin. I think it is what are you looking for.

Escape would be of little help since ctrl-esc opens Windows’ start menu. It would work in Linux over wine however.
I think that sorting is a bad idea. You have to keep pressing ctrl while navigating with the mouse. It sounds cumbersome and I prefer task switcher to be very light.
I do recommend NavigateTo plugin for finding files by name.

Another issue is that task switcher should close when losing focus. Currently if you click on another window it remains open.

If you want, here is a patch for closing task switcher on ctrl-esc or ctrl-~.
                Here are compiled binaries.
