        View > Show Symbol > uncheck Show End of Line (or Show All Characters, whichever is checked)

            A video…ugh…the world needs a video for everything these days…

            Go to the View menu (see File, Edit, Search, View, Encoding…) across the top of the window just under the title bar

            Click on the word “View”.

            A menu will drop down with a series of choices.

            Point to “Show Symbol” with the mouse.

            A cascading menu will open to the right showing the choices you may make.

            Follow @PeterJones 's advice from there.

              In the right corner in the status bar, double-clic on Windows (CR LF) a menu will appear.

                No, that is for CHANGING the file’s actual line-ending type (that is, changing the data content of the file). The original poster didn’t want to do that; they were only concerned with turning off the display of visible line-endings.

                    @Florent-Pagès

                    Yes, that will work, too, if one has the patience to count 20 items rather than use the View menu approach first proposed. :-)

                    Or one could just describe that toolbar button as the one with a “paragraph marker” symbol on it. A backwards P with double vertical line.
