      Hi,

      I have a user running Windows 10 build 1607 with N++ v7.2.2 32-bit. He registers .TXT file extension for N++ but when he exits and relaunches N++, the association is not retained.

      However, if he launches N++ as administrator, the file extension is registered successfully.

      Is there a solution for this? As a workaround, I installed this tool that fools Windows into launching N++ when it thinks it is launching Notepad, so this gets around the file association issue.

      Thanks,
      Roland

        @Roland-Thomas

        what about using windows default apps applet where you can define
        which program should be the default for which files?

        Cheers
        Claudia
