Trouble Downloading

Hey, so I want to download Notepad ++ on my computer but when I tried running it, it says that I do not have a program that associates with the action (in this case, running Notepad ++). I was just wondering what kind of program I should get or if there are any other ways I could possibly download the program. I use it at school and I love it, but I can’t seem to be getting to use it right now.
