How to revert back to real tabs in two (or more) lines of tabs for many open files?

When I have many open files in NotePad++ (under 64bit Win 7) then in the past the corresponding tabs were spread over two (or more) tab lines at the top in the well know, traditional tab style.
Since a while this tab view is only used for ONE line of tabs.
As soon as the second tab line is necessary the tabs turn to ugly (very ugly) rectangles.How can I revert back to the old visual, usual NP++ tabs?

Either wait for the next release or rollback to an older version.
