Notepadd ++ file crashed and file is no where to be found in backup directory

Few hours ago i was edditing my style.css code and all of a sudden NPP crashed, i seeked for help everywhere and i discovered there is a backup path, which was no where to be found , i also discovred there is a new method so i quickly created a DMP file from windows task manager, but i discovered the dmp file is utf-8 encoded and i cant possible read it tried using visual studio and am unable to do it also, pls am i in d rite track, is there any other possible means of doing this
