Notepad++ keeps trying to open change.log

I’m using version 7.7.3. It keeps wanting to open C:\Program Files\Notepad++\change.log. I’ve tried:
- Changing the options in Preferences -> Backup
- Deleting the file from Windows
- Deleting the file using File -> Move to Recycle Bin
- Toggling Preferences -> General -> Recent Files History -> Don’t check at launch time
It either opens or tries to open change.log. How do I turn this off?

change.log -
I also went crazy trying to figure this out… the behaviour of Windows’ pin feature is extremely annoying.

That was it. I unpinned it and re-pinned it and it’s fine now. Thank you.
