File > Open dialog doesn't autocomplete on one of my computers

When using File > Open to open a file, on one Win 7 Pro system, if I type a few characters of the filename the dialog box shows an iterative list of matching files. On another system this isn’t happening. Both systems are Win 7 Pro. How can I make both (all) systems show the matching files?

afaik, this is a functionality of the underlying control.
Could it be that one win7 machine is using a different
COMMDLG.DLL (I assume this one is used) version??Cheers
