    I have text files setup to open in Notepad++. Suddenly, when I double-click on a text file, I get an error message: This app can’t run on your PC. To find a version for your PC, check with your software manufacturer.

    I reinstalled the latest version, but that didn’t fix the problem. How can I get back the ability to double-click on a text file and open it in Notepad++?

      @espressokid

      as far as I remember this message appears if the use exe isn’t build for the current os,
      like you try to execute a 64bit application on a 32bit operating system.

      Which os and which npp version did you try?

      Cheers
      Claudia

        I found the problem. Win 10 had disassociated the link with text files. There was no default app set to open text files. Not sure why that happened but I set the default to Notepad++ and all is well.
