lost session for the nth time. Change from notepad++?

Notepad++ has an age long problem of losing session and overwriting a clean one over if caught open during a windows force close perhaps
Last time I enabled “Enable session snapshot and periodic backup”, which doesn’t backup the session but the files, and as usual I’m recovering the session. xml with EaseUs datarecovery from weeks ago
Will this problem be solved this century?

You should have learned it from your last unpleasant interaction.
This forum is mainly for user to user help about existing features and workarounds.
For NPP bug reports you should google the appropriate place. Most likely this bug is already filed.

In 7.2.2 it isn’t fixed as in all the versions before it
Seeing that bugs that matter to me aren’t going to be fixed, perhaps I should move to an alternative instead of banging my head against the same issues time and time again

BTW, for anyone who may have this problem, I actually recovered the session.xml with Disk investigator, a very useful raw data searcher on the disk, when file recovery software fails

I’ve just suddenly ended the N++ process and my session (with all changes) was correctly restored later. Anyway, a forced shutdown is not an elegant way to close Windows, it seems the problem lies at some point between the keyboard and the chair in this case.
