    2 questions please?

    1. how can I tell if my npp (portable) installation is unicode? I didn’t know it was and
    2. when I try to install (=download, because I can’t install from plugin manager due to proxy issues) npptextfx,
      I get the following error:

    NPPTextFX.dll

This ANSI plugin is not compatible with your Unicode Notepad++.

NPPTextFX.dll is not compatible with the current version of Notepad++.

Do you want to remove this plugin from the plugins directory to prevent this message from the next launch?

Unicode is now the only development path for Notepad++. ANSI was dropped starting with version 6.0 in april 1012.
      See wiki .

      Cheers

if you didn’t find the textfx unicode plugin yet, you can download it here:
        https://sourceforge.net/projects/npp-plugins/files/TextFX/TextFX v0.26/
