    As title, i have installed the xml tools plugin, but whenever i try to open a xml file with notepad++, windows switches focus to notepad++ but nothing happens. Notepad++ does not open the xml file and there is no error message or anything.

    This is with notepad++ 6.9.2.

      @Question2

      Maybe you wanna describe in detail what you are doing? Right-click on file to start or
      start npp and use the file menu to open the file or …
      In addition I would give it a try to run notepad++ without plugins to see if a plugin is causing this.
      (Temporarily rename plugins directory). Might it be a privilege issue?

      Cheers

        @Claudia-Frank I’ve tried right click->edit with notepad++ and opening the file via notepad++'s file->open menu. Nothing works. There is no error messge, notepad++ simply fails to open the file.

        Not sure what you mean by disable plugins…i’ve tried ticking/unticking all the plugins in the plugin manager, and it makes no difference. Are you saying that you can open xml files just fine in notepad++?

          @Question2

          yes, I can edit xml without a problem.
          By disabling plugins I mean rename the …\notepad++\plugins directory so it cannot
          find any plugins. Depending on your configuration it is either the one under %APPDATA%\notepad++ or the one under INSTALLDIR\notepad++.

          Cheers
