      Is there a way to have two instances of notepad++ running or maybe split the screen to view 2 or 3 files simultaneously?

        @Jeffery-P-Krause

        npp supports two views

        View->Move/Clone Current Document

        and several instances if multi instance is set

        Settings->Preferences->Multi-Instance

        Cheers

          Even if Settings menu -> Preferences -> Multi-Instance is set to Default (mono-instance), right-clicking on an edit-window tab offers Move to New Instance and Open in New Instance choices that work.
