      Given a list of keywords in a user-defined language definition, I need to highlight keywords when they’re preceded by a modifying character.

      For example, given keyword, mykeyword, that highlights correctly, I also want to highlight *mykeyword, !mykeyword, ~mykeyword, with the same attributes as the original keyword.

      Any suggestions?
