"Update Notepad++" Does Not Work
-
Clicking on the menu item ? > “Update Notepad++” responds with “No update is available”, even though there indeed is an update on the Notepad++ website.
-
There is a little bit of a time-delay built into it…this prevents mass auto-updates in case early testers (bless 'em!) find critical bugs. If nothing major is found it will trigger. Not sure what the exact “judgment period” is, though, as I don’t use auto-updater.
-
I don’t use the auto-updater either. I am talking about manual updates, but if there is a delay there as well, then it is what it is. Also, in the year or so that I have used the program I never had a manual update find an update.

@Firstname-Lastname So which version of N++ are you currently using? Probably not 7.5.5 or 7.5.6.
-
See also https://notepad-plus-plus.org/community/topic/15430/please-update-getdownloadurl-php, current 7.5.4 is published.

I updated to version 7.5.5 (64 bit) that I saw on the Notepad++ website. I see from your link there was problems with this update being recognized. I will check again after a couple of updates to see if “Update Notepad++” sees anything. Whatever, no big deal; I run a program called PatchMyPC that I run frequently that sees your updates when they are issued.
As a side note, I have to disable my VPN to post anything here because it is recognized as spam (Many users using the same address of course); I don’t have this issue on any of the many other forums I frequent.

PatchMyPC reports version 7.5.6 is available. As per what you stated in your link, “Update Notepad++” as expected does not show that update. I will try again a couple weeks.
