Session Manager Error 7 loading the global properties file

A few days ago I began getting the following error whenever I try to save a file:

“NppPlugin::prp::updateGlobalFromSession: Error 7 loading the global properties file.”

I can’t figure out what plugin “prp” is. Otherwise I’d try uninstalling and reinstalling it.
I also tried exiting Npp, renaming the config.xml file and restarting Npp. Issue still exists.

Other suggestions?

did you check/confirm that the “global properties file” is there and is accessible?
Maybe by using tools like sysinternals procmon?
