This is probably a PC setting but hopefully someone has had this issue before and knows a fix. I have noticed that my find and replace box will not correctly display characters. For example I need to replace tabs with the DC4 Character, when I insert in find/replace it is an open box , however after the find/replace the character displays correctly in the file. This issue also occurs with another web based program where I have to select items to serve as column separators. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I know this would be PC related since issue does not replicate on other machines.

sounds like the font used in the dialog box is broken and needs to be repaired.
Hmm, need to check which font is used in find in file dialog. Will follow up.

        Cheers

ok, the logical font used is Ms Shell Dlg.
You need to check the registry at

          HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\FontSubstitutes

to see it’s real font. At my system it is MS Sans Serif.
To fix a broken font you could try to goto
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Fonts\Font settings
and press the resore default font settings button, if this doesn’t
          help try to reinstall it.

          Cheers
