Keep unsaved tabs open between sessions

I had a different laptop a few months ago. I had Notepad++ set to keep my unsaved tabs open until I manually closed them. I cannot get this newer laptop to do it though.

I thought checking the Remember current session for next launch box might do the trick, but apparently not.

if you want to keep unsaved notes you need to enable
session snapshot and periodic update as well.
