    Hello. The installation of Nppftp has failed with a message 'cannot validate the integrity of xxx file." If I press copy file anyways, i can use the plugin but its concerning.

    Is it safe to use this way?

    I am gettign the same error even if i try to install it from the plugin manager.

      welcome to the notepad++ community, @Peter-Drenkovics

      using the built in official “plugins admin” to install nppftp runs fine on all variants of notepad++ 7.6.2 i’ve tested right now (32/64 bit, portable and installed)

      note: plugins manager is not a part of notepad++ and not (at least not yet) compatible with newer versions 7.6.x. and above
      if it shows any issues, please report them here

      if you need any further help, please provide us with your debug info, by going to notepad++ menu ? > debug info > copy debug info into clipboard and paste the information here

          @Peter-Drenkovics

          thanks for your debug info.

          i can see you are using an older version of notepad++ that does not have the integrated “plugins admin” yet, so you only have the third party “plugin manager”.

          i don’t know for sure, as this is another external project from >>>here<<< ,
          but my best guess is, that the nppftp plugin at the plugin manager repo of bruderstein has been updated, but the hash list, which is a kind of check sum for the file you downloaded, has not been updated to match the new dll, and triggers this warning, because the downloaded plugin does not match the old version’s hash.

          suggestion:

          as you have downloaded it already, i’d suggest to upload your NppFTP.dll from the plugins folder inside your program files notepad++ folder, to virustotal on >>>this page<<< where it will be checked with all major anti virus programs (about 60+ anti virus programs, community based and 100% free, no login or further information required) just to make sure it’s clean.

          if it is clean, keep it.

            thank you, its clean! and working too. TOugh I dunno why I don’t have the most recent version of notepad++ when I just updated it… anyways, thx Probably should just simply delete this version and install the newest straight from the notepadd++ website.

              @Peter-Drenkovics

              TOugh I dunno why I don’t have the most recent version of notepad++ when I just updated it…

              there have been major changes to the internal folder structures of notepad++ above version 7.5.9, so this seems to be a security precaution, to make an upgrade only possible, if you do it manually by downloading and installing a new installer.
              plugins from 7.5.9 would have to be reinstalled, or moved to the new folder locations manually on 7.6.2.

              Probably should just simply delete this version and install the newest straight from the notepadd++ website.

              i suggest to wait and not to upgrade for now, until 7.6.3 is out.
              the upcoming version has further plugins folder location changes that will differ from 7.6.2, as well as other features and fixes.
