How to install webedit plugin? Why is it not visible in the toolbar?

On a “meta” note (no, not @Meta-Chuh !) …
loooooool … my phone just went pingggg … loooooool 😂
i like your videos, or animated gifs in general.
to all:
i usually stare a long time at animated gifs, until i know where it begins.
(of course i could just reload the page … but that would be less relaxing, than to stare at it 😉 )to improve that, we could make a title picture with our names or logos in it, and add this as a 1 second title animation at the beginning to all our gif videos.
a lot more work, but i think this could be nice. -
@Alan-Kilborn & @andrecool-68 :
I just verified:
- I can edit an animated .gif with ScreenToGif – so whether you use it to do the original capture or not, it is possible to use it to edit the animated gif after the fact. You can use the Editor > File > Media to insert an image before or after the selected frame.
- I cannot re-upload an image to imgur under the same URL; so I cannot go back and edit old images so that they show up with my animation end-card frame in existing posts.
Thus, going forward, I will try to use my endcard for ~1s at the end of each animated gif, but I cannot go back and fix existing ones (since mortals cannot edit old posts beyond the 3min mark)

@PeterJones
To see where the animation starts and ends, you can add a progress bar at the bottom (Screen To Gif \ Image \ Progress) -

i guess it’s no big deal, as i only meant future videos anyways. (past videos didn’t even cross my mind, but i forgot to write the word “future”). but you are correct. i just went to imgur and checked that at one of my old pictures by pressing edit and …
… nada … absolutely nada we can do there, except cropping or rotating it. -

This sounds like it solves the “problem” and is the easiest thing to do. Hopefully posters adopt it.
Although…I was envisioning any “videos” created by @Meta-Chuh ending with a 1.5s pause on his “family photo”. :)

I tried the progress bar in ScreenToGif, and while for some reason I could not change its color (it defaults to an ugly but noticeable black), it definitely does the intended job. It appears to take up space in the actual “video”, however, so be sure to leave a bit of extra room at the bottom while recording so that the bar doesn’t cover up anything you are trying to show to make a point.

@Alan-Kilborn
(ScreenToGif) Black color is the most stable.
Test Easy GIF Animator, not a bad program! -
@Alan-Kilborn
Until that time, I used the Instant Demo program, but it only has Flash output file. -

@Евгений-Макаров
@Евгений-Макаров
Hunspell

in case you might still need this:
i’ve just played around with the screentogif progress bar, while commenting a bug at the new multi-cursor editing feature upgrade.
i’ve optimised the settings a bit, in order to generate a custom colour progress bar, without compression artefacts on the bar, without degrading the original video, and with a far reduced file size.
example video:
- first, set your desired progress bar colour and/or thickness at
image > progress > color
as seen at the screenshot below, and hit apply:
- then, go to
save as > encoder
and set the encoder to 2.0 before saving.
notes:
the encoder is usually set to 1.0 as default value.
the 2.0 encoder produces files with about 1/2 to 1/3 compared to the size of encoder 1.0, especially when using overlays.
the 2.0 encoder has better algorithms to reduce artefacts, like the ones we’ve been seeing on progress bar overlays with and without custom colours. - first, set your desired progress bar colour and/or thickness at

@Евгений-Макаров

I’ve been trying and trying to get this plugin to work again… it makes my work SO much faster. Unfortunately, nothing seems to work. I’m hoping you can help. Here’s what I’ve done, using ++ v8.1.4 (32-bit):
- Installed through the built-in Plugins Admin
- Removed and installed manually, following the instructions above. The ANSI version gave a compatibility error, so I put the regular version’s files in /plugins/WebEdit.
- I’ve also copied WebEdit.ini and WebEdit.dll to the /plugins/ folder.
I can see that the .ini file has commands in it, but the Shortcut Mapper doesn’t show the commands.
Ideas?
