Saving a text file as an .html file
-
I accidentally deleted some important bookmarks from Google Chrome browser. I somehow managed to retrieve them as a text file. I opened the file in Notepad++ and I saved it as .html so that I could import it in Google Chrome. However the file was saved as a text file. What should I do to save it as an html file?

What should I do to save it as an html file?
I assume learning html coding?
Just giving a file an different extension doesn’t mean it changes its content magically. As I don’t use chrome I can’t say what exactly needs to be done in order
to reimport the lost bookmarks. -

How you saved your Google Chrome bookmarks?
Through the import of bookmarks? -
@Yangos-Metaxas
If you saved the file:
\AppData\Local\Chrome\User Data\Default\Bookmarks
That is not html … this is json file without extension -
@Yangos-Metaxas
Check file availability:
\AppData\Local\Chrome\User Data\Default\Bookmarks.bak
This is a backup of your bookmarks.
Just delete the extension from this file! -
Guys thank you all for your replies.
What if I sent you the file itself? Who would be kind enough to convert it to html so that I could import it in Chrome?
I’t s a text file and it is 2.276 KB. I honestly don’ t remember how exactly I managed to extract the file.
I had accidentally erased these bookmarks from my desktop. There was nothing I could do from there.
What I did is I stopped. the syncing and I went to my laptop in which I turned the wifi off.
Where should I send the file? -
Sorry but nobody wants your file. You apparently have a “file content” problem and not a Notepad++ problem. This forum is about Notepad++, not a file’s contents.

@Yangos-Metaxas
2.276 kb is about 5500 lines with bookmarks)))
Nobody will fix it for you!
