Plug in will not install

I have tested this on two computers and on one computer i upgraded to the 7.7.1 and same issue.
- open plugin admin
- i find the Plug in “Compare” check the box off and click Install
- i get the message it will close notepad ++ and install the plug in.
- I reopen Notepad ++ and go back to the plugin admin click on the installed Tab and “Compare” plugin is still not found as installed.
