I have been using notepad for years. All of a sudden when I open it, my mouse jumps all over, I can't do anything. Any suggestions?

All of a sudden when I open the app my mouse is jumping all over, even after restarting, I do not have a macro running. Any suggestions, I can’t get anything done.
