      Hi guys,
      On my new Windows 10 install N++ is only letting me tab-indent with spaces, and the preferences->language option seems to be ignored. Restarting doesn’t seem to help

      Anyone got an idea how to fix it?
      Thanks!

        Have you tried changing this option?

            @tmschoegje you said it’s a new install. is it really a fresh install ? You may have used old configuration files that may not be compatible.

            what are your debug info ? A plugin may be the culprit
            You may try the zip package - https://github.com/notepad-plus-plus/notepad-plus-plus/releases/download/v7.8.2/npp.7.8.2.bin.zip

              @tmschoegje said in Tab indents replaced by spaces, ignores setting:

              Were you changing it for the [Default] language like @andrecool-68 showed, or were you changing it for a specific lanugage? For example, if your text file is Python code, you have to change the Tab Settings for the python language, not for the [Default] (unless python happens to be set to ☑ Use Default Value)

                @PeterJones
                Thanks! I didn’t realise Python was not using the default values
