Have 2 versions of NPP on my laptop (not on purpose). Need help

I wasn’t sure how to phrase the title.
My situation is that I have v7.5.6 installed and can find that executable. I have it as a shortcut on my Win7 (yes, I’m upgrading) taskbar. This version works fine. When I double-click an associated file from Windows Explored, it opens a different version (v7.6.6). I cannot find where that exe is. I’d like to make that my default and change my desktop and taskbar shortcuts to point to this version? I may be missing something, but I cannot find where that exe is located. Thanks for any help. -Rick

When the program is running, go to the ?menu and chooseDebug Info.... A popup will happen that identifies several attributes of the program. One of these isPath:. That one will tell you the path to the exe you are currently running. You could also search your hard drive for all instances of notepad++.exe…

That did it. Both ways. For some reason since I could only find one Notepad++.exe in the folders, i did not think ti simply search my hard drive. This is a work computer and I am not very well versed in how Windows is administered for a group. My directories for the exe look like this: “C:\ProgramData\App-V\39053732-F6F5-4330-B230-69A64467D68E\53CFA7AE-489B-47AD-9FC2-46755FB8FDAA\Root\VFS\ProgramFilesX64\Notepad++\notepad++.exe” I do not even see a “ProgramData” at first. Then I thought to view hidden system files and then there it was. Thanks for giving my brain a jump start. -Rick
