All my themes a only have one colors of text.

This is undoubtedly quite simple but it is bugging me and I can not seen to sort it out, I am also new to NP++.
All the themes I have tried only have one color of text, comments, commands, functions are all the same. I would like to change this, it made it much easier to spot the mistake and typo. Can anyone advise me?

PS I have tried loading new themes, still no joy. -
That’s pretty “light” for information to be able to give a great answer. Are you actually specifying a type for the files you are looking at? This would be shown on the leftmost section of the status bar–what does it say there?
